If individuals, employers and organisations want to ensure healthy, safe and energetic workplaces, they will need to encourage, model and practice self-care and make it part of their risk management protocols.
Adopting regular self-care practices may play an important role in reducing:
- Escalating Stress - A process which occurs when there is an imbalance between demands made on us and
our resources to cope with them.
- Burnout - Prolonged physical and psychological exhaustion or
- Vicarious trauma - When a person’s world view is changed as a result of hearing or witnessing traumatic
stories or events.
